Hi, Friends! We are the family behind Living Our Incredible Dash. In November 2014, we moved into our 35′ Rexhall Aerbus and started our full-time journey. After 12 years as a military family, enduring several long separations, we decided to hit the road full time in our RV. Traveling the country in an RV had been our dream for years but we were always waiting for the “perfect” time. Suddenly, we realized the wait was over. There is no perfect time. We only get one life to live and we decided we don’t want to wait around regretting our choices and fearing the future. We are trying to embrace each day as a chance to live purposely. We don’t know what the future holds but we do know we want to live more intentionally. To live more simply. To live more adventurously. To live – more!
It has not been without its ups and downs but we believe life is what you make it and every single bit of the journey has been worth it. You can read more about why we decided to live and travel in an RV full time here.
Travis & Cat
We met on eHarmony.com – a little silly, we know, but their process must have some success because here we are! Cat signed up to do the personality profile for a psychology paper she was writing, while Travis signed up – to meet a lady who would become his wife. Being matched led to endless phone calls, countless flights between AZ and TX and soon after we were married!
Travis recently ended his long-time career in the Air Force and is now a conductor with BNSF Railway. He enjoys computers, mountain biking, dog training, archery and has become quite the DIY guru. He will out-scream anyone with his hilarious antics on roller coasters and it’s safe to say that if there’s an amusement park nearby he will jump at the chance to go. He loves the minimalistic life, free of busyness, with plenty of time for family togetherness and fun.
Cat is a former EMT turned stay-at-home mama. She’s a hobby photographer who loves to capture precious moments to cherish forever. Growing up, she lived in Arizona and her family often took trips together which planted a love of traveling in her heart from a young age. In college, she worked as a flight attendant and also lived and worked in France as a nanny. This afforded many unforgettable travel opportunities including Germany, Italy, Spain, and Andorra. She enjoys writing, beaches, hiking, horseback riding, reading and the sound of a heavy rainstorm on the RV roof! The best part of being full time is being able to move frequently, meet new people, and explore every nook and cranny of our beautiful world.
She is our born traveller – she loves to go, see, and do! She has traveled with her mama cross country since she was an itty bitty baby, as girls trips were our favorite way to pass the time when Daddy deployed. She is so full of life, loves adventure and keeps us all laughing! At 6 years old, she is a social butterfly who loves meeting new friends, animals, the color purple, anything science related, being outside and finding new playgrounds to explore. She loves every travel day and is always excited to see where we will go next!
He is our sweet sensitive soul, a cuddler, and mommy’s boy through and through! Yes, his name is the same as the one you might recall from a famous series of movies. : wink: Anakin tolerates travel days but mostly loves to explore once we stop – whether at our destination or anywhere along the way! At 4 years old, he loves his Star Wars guys, building with Legos and playing in the sandbox. If there is music playing you can be certain that you will find him singing or dancing along, and he’ll probably get you to join in too! He can’t wait for a Disneyland trip and train ride he’s old enough to remember!
He is our newest addition to the family, born in February 2017! He has known no other life than our simple RV life! We were parked during his complicated pregnancy and hit the road again when he was just under 6 weeks old. He is a mellow, easy traveler and always seems to be up for an adventure! At just 3 months old he has visited 5 states, including Alaska, as well as traveled through Canada. He can also brag that he’s visited the North Pole and went rafting before he turned 3 months old. What a story he will grow up to tell!
After my dachshund, Rusty, passed away due to cancer it took us some time to decide to get another dog. We dog sat a labrador retriever for a friend and suddenly we realized that we really needed another furry member of the family. We searched for the right dog for several months and during that time is when we met our friend Laura, owner of Sage Creek Kennels. We met Harley just days after he was born and fell in love immediately. He turned 5 this year and has really grown up with our kids. He has just the perfect temperament thanks to the hard work and training that both Laura and Travis have done. When we are outside he loves to run, chase balls, and play with the kids. When we are hanging out inside, he is happy to just lounge around and take long naps or chew on a bone. He is such a traveler, loves to cuddle and is a great protective guy to have around.
